It is well known that India is a hot country but not many people are aware that there are places in India where it snows. And by god, it does snow like crazy. Try going to Kashmir in the winter and you'll find that it can beat any cold nation of the world. However if you are planning to go somewhere during the winter, why not try some of the places India has to offer. India has many winter destinations and its all about trying some of them. I have spoken to many Indians and surprisingly not many are aware that it snows and many of them despite about knowing these places are not aware that these are popular holiday destinations.

Gulmarg Gondola

So what exactly are these winter destinations of India;

First and foremost it has to be Gulmarg of Kashmir. One of the popular destination or hill station is called Gondola. I have been there once when I was small with my family and I enjoyed every bit of it. Its not for those who do not like the snow. But if you do and if you want to try your hand at skiing, I suggest you go to this place.

Mount Abu is a great winter destination of India

Some of the other places to go in the winter in India include;

Diu, one of the union territories of India
Shimla, a well know winter destination and a summner getaway
Mount Abu, a well know religious loaction in Rajasthan
Haflong in the North East of India
Kerala in the winter is great
Manali in  Himachal Pradesh

My opinion is that these are some of the top winter destination of India. Shimla has always been my favourite.
