Banaras or Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh is supposed to be the cultural capital of India. It is one of the most religious centres of Hinduism. It is here that Sanskrit is most studied and is home to the famous Banaras Hindu University. It also considered as one of the oldest cities in the world which is still occupied. The city of Varanasi is easily reachable from most places of India by rail, coach or air.
