Kumhrar Patna

The excavations at Kumhrar at Patna in Bihar is thought to be site of ancient Patliputra, the capital of once India and of the empire of Ashoka the Great. The excavations of this site is said to to be consist of a hall of which a pillar has been excavated. It has been said that this pillar is of the very hall where the Third Buddhist Council was held under the instructions of Ashoka after this conversion to Buddhism. 
The site is a must see for those interested in history and culture of India or Buddhism and religion. The entry to the site is 4 Rupees for Indians and 100 Rupees for foreigners.
