The Taj Mahal is one of the most visited monuments in the world. The Taj was build by Shah Jahan in the 17th century for Mumtaz who had died during child birth. Although Shah Jahan had other wives, he loved Mumtaz the most because she shared some of his interests such as poetry. When Mumtaz was on her death bed, he promised that he will build her a monument and he kept his promise.
